What is UX?

UX is a term that covers all aspects related to user experience. It is the full set of impressions a user has of a website, e-store, mobile app, or any other product. The work of UX designers and researchers focuses on building positive experiences — the platform should be attractive, functional, and useful, and using it should give the user pleasure and satisfaction; they should be able to reach their own goals through it.

For instance, in e-commerce a well-designed UX shows up in comfortable browsing of product content (the user can find product attributes they care about, filter categories) and an intuitive order form: the user is told which step of the process they are in, can comfortably pick from the options offered, and gets full information and help from the system in case of errors.
